Waiting for The One

How do you decide if the person that you are with will be The One?

This is a rather tough question I think, one that does not have a real solid answer.

Do you list down all the criteria you look for in a perfect match, and tick them down methodically as you progress through a number of partners, and then decide who scores the highest?

Do you look for someone who can give you the security of a good marriage - good religious upbringing, loving personality, safe relationship? Or do you go on the wild side, and look for someone who makes your world go round, someone who makes sparks fly when you are with them, someone who fills you with the highest level of passion? Is that what you would look for in a marriage?

Of course, ideally, you would want it to be a combination of all the above, but what if you don't get all that, and you had to choose between the two?...

Or would you let God help you in making that decision... In making impossible to make the choice, until The One indeed comes along?

In the end, I think if you really, really find it difficult, put your trust in God, and he will lead you the way...

You should not have to compromise when it comes to marriage.

I'm glad I waited for The One...

And I'm glad my sister did too...

May you have a wonderful life ahead of you Sameerah and Bruce.

Congratulations on your wedding, and God Bless...

Salam Abdullah
I learn that there is no perfect one. Neither is there someone ideal. But someone close to being perfect or ideal is good enough.
As is, I am still looking for an answer to that question. And I am told when the time comes, I will know, with the guidance of the Supreme Being, Insya'Allah.
Congratulations to your sister.
Salam Fauziah,
I totally agree with you... And I also think that Insyaallah, if we put our trust in Him, He will pave the way for someone that may not be all you wanted, but Insyallah will be the best for you in this world and the hereafter.

May Allah bless and guide you in your quest.

end of year....
ramai betul orang kawen
congrats~
i guess perfect for each other is important
but yeah, acceptance is important as well :)
Thank you sootsprite...

Actually, acceptance is the most important thing, because there is no such thing as perfect in a marriage..

You're bound to encounter weaknesses in your spouse sooner or later...It's just how you deal with this that really matters :)

I read somewhere, that, Love is not finding the perfect one, but accepting his imperfections....

something like that.
Hey Mother (can I call you by ur other name?) ;)

Long time no see... I was just thinking about you yesterday. How have you been?

I absolutely agree with you...Love is accepting all the imperfections of your other half..
but at the same time, I think the vision of your ideal and the person you end up with should not differ like the sun and the moon.

Help is always far away

Help is never far away. That is the old adage that has been drummed into us ever since we were young. No matter where you are, and what difficulty you are going through, someone will be close at hand to help. Except they aren't. Many a time no one in your vicinity gives a rat's ass. Or could be in a mess of their own to even think that someone else may need the support. Just that little bit of assurance to show that they care. Sometimes it can be in the smallest things. A kind word. A check up of how one is doing. Yet help does come. Someone takes the time to respond, in short messages, all the way from across the Pacific Ocean. Someone does take the time to relate, and share their own experiences, and offers words of comfort from across the country. Yes, help is at hand, but it is always far away. *picture credit here

The Forbidden Kingdom No More

Yesterday is a day that would forever go down the sands of time as... "The Day I Fed Two Hundred Ravenous Mouths with Bottomless Pits" Oh the horror!... The Pain!... The Suffering!!! Like a swarm of locusts they came, wave upon wave upon wave... Like a farmer protecting his crop I could only look on and stare, as they darkened the sky, before zeroing in for the kill... Tears streamed down my eyes as I watched them strip every last grain of maize and corn that I had planted at the begininning of the year... My knees thudded to the ground, as I numbly watched the carnage around me, my tired brain barely registering what my eyes perceived. "So this is what it feels like"... I thought in my brain... "This thing called Open House" . .. ... Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut I'm just being dramatic here ;) Yesterday was actually a day that I'm going to remember for a long time, simply because it was graced with the presence of those eager young minds I he

My nightmare come true

This is it. It's finally happened. The stuff of bad dreams for many language teachers has today materialised for me, rearing its ugly head, scoffing at my abilities as a language professional. This is an actual letter from one of my students as part of their coursework. Final year student. Soon to graduate and meet the workforce of the nation. Read it and weep...
